About the Farm
Background
After completing Master Gardening classes through Iowa State University in 2010, Donna Warhover initiated a vegetable garden project with Goodwill’s Day Habilitation program for adults with disabilities. This transformative experience led Donna and her husband Bill to purchase a small farm in Mount Vernon, Iowa in May of 2013, thus founding Morning Glory. They began tilling the ground immediately, driven by a dream to live closer to the earth and share that goodness with others.
Practices
Morning Glory adheres to organic farming practices, focusing on the health of the soil and the quality of the produce. They emphasize the importance of creating a sustainable environment that fosters well-being across environmental, economic, and social dimensions. The farm is dedicated to growing healthy food, nurturing healthy lives, and building a healthy community.
The Rest
Morning Glory offers Spring, Summer, and Fall CSA shares and welcomes visitors to experience the farm firsthand. The farm also serves as an event venue, providing a safe and welcoming environment for people to grow, connect, and find healing. Additionally, they have launched a food truck to promote sustainably grown food and foster community awareness.
