About the Farm
Background
The farm has established itself as a provider of diverse livestock and produce, including heritage breeds and organic vegetables. Known for its commitment to permaculture and local sourcing, it has become a community hub with offerings such as CSA shares and an on-farm market.
Practices
Certified in Permaculture Design, the farm rotates sheep, goats, pigs, and poultry through 30 acres of pastures and forest. This rotational grazing method enriches the soil and promotes biodiversity. Additionally, a 1/4 acre organic garden contributes to the farm's produce offerings. About one third of the sheep are raised for fiber, integrating livestock and crop production in a sustainable cycle.
The Rest
The farm also offers internships, providing hands-on learning opportunities in permaculture and organic farming. Visitors can explore the on-farm market, which operates on specific days of the week, and engage with the farm's community through various events and educational programs.
