About the Farm
Background
Located just a mile across the Tennessee-Kentucky state line in Adairville, Moo2U is run by Mike, a third-generation dairy farmer. The farm has a long-standing tradition of dairy farming, now specializing in delivering herd shares to the greater Nashville area and Clarksville.
Practices
The farm's herd consists of Jersey cows, known for their compatibility with a mostly grass-fed diet. The cows' diet is primarily grass-based, including pasture, dry hay, and grass silage, supplemented with locally mixed feed to meet their vitamin and mineral needs. The feed program prioritizes the health of the cows over higher production. Milking is conducted once a day to reduce stress, strengthen body condition, reduce lameness, and improve fertility. Antibiotics are administered solely for health purposes under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian, and no growth hormones are used.
The Rest
Milk is available exclusively for Herd Share Members. Interested individuals can contact the farm directly for more information.
