About the Farm
Background
Monterey Gold Honey, the labor of love of Paul & Larissa Del Piero, continues a family legacy of farming and ranching in Monterey County that spans over five generations. In just a few short years, they have expanded from two hives on a hill to winning gold medals in nearly every major honey competition on the West Coast, including being named a finalist in the prestigious International Black Jar Honey Competition.
Practices
The honey is produced in small batches from sustainable apiaries, with bees free to gather pollen and nectar from the best flowers and plants. The farm focuses on the basics by making one type of honey, harvesting once a year, and never using synthetic pesticides or chemicals in their hives.
The Rest
Monterey Gold Honey has won over a dozen gold medals at local, national, and international honey competitions. More information can be found on their website at montereygoldhoney.com.
