About the Farm
Background
Brandon Brooks hails from a Montana ranching family with a century-long tradition of raising beef under the Big Sky. His great-grandfather arrived in Montana on a cattle drive from Texas and established a family legacy of cowboy heritage. Today, Brandon and Jessa Brooks continue this tradition on their ranch located in Northwest Montana on the banks of the Flathead River.
Practices
The Brooks Ranch employs regenerative practices, raising grass-fed and finished, hormone-free Black Angus beef. The cattle are never fed anything other than range land grasses and pesticide-free alfalfa, avoiding silage that prematurely fattens cows. The ranch rotates cattle through 2,000-acre pastures of public land during the summer, supporting a symbiotic relationship with native wildlife such as elk, moose, bear, and wolves. This approach ensures land resilience, proper predator management, and the health of the water sources.
The Rest
The ranch offers various beef box subscriptions, ranging from 20 lbs to 480 lbs, with options for personalized cuts. Free pickup is available in Montana’s Flathead County. The Brooks family emphasizes the importance of cowboy tradition, land stewardship, and the intimate relationship between food and health.
