About the Farm
Background
In 2010, the farm expanded by purchasing a neighboring farm, allowing for the growth of their beef herd and the addition of meat goats, grass hay, and market hogs to their offerings.
Practices
Chickens are started indoors and moved to pastures at about 3 weeks of age, fed certified organic feed, and fertilized naturally by the beef herd and neighboring dairies and chickens. The farm is WSDA inspected and harvests poultry approximately once per month from July to October. Goats kid in March, with whethers available from mid-summer through fall, and a limited number of pigs are available for sale by the half in the fall.
The Rest
Poultry is sold fresh at the time of harvest, with frozen chickens available as long as supply lasts. The farm is developing markets to make products available at grocery stores and local meat markets. Grass hay is for sale year-round, and delivery is available to the Olympia area. The farm is easily accessed from I-5, just 2 miles east of exit 74.
