About the Farm
Background
MiBek Farms is a family farm operated by Michael and Becky, both of whom have agriculture degrees from the University of Florida. Michael received his PhD in cattle nutrition from the University of Nebraska, ensuring expert management of the cattle. The farm is known for its high-quality beef, which is dry-aged for 18 days to enhance flavor and tenderness.
Practices
Cattle are never given hormones, fed antibiotics, or concentrated grains. They rotationally graze year-round on winter rye or summer native grass pastures and are never confined to a feedlot. Humane management practices are emphasized to reduce stress, which is crucial for producing tender beef.
The Rest
MiBek Beef is USDA inspected and available at selected South Carolina Farmers' Markets, including Aiken, Bluffton, Columbia (Soda City), Mt. Pleasant, and Port Royal at Beaufort. Special orders are available to chefs, caterers, and individuals, and shipping is also an option. Customers can check the web-calendar for other drop-off locations.
