About the Farm
Background
Founded in 2010 by Tom and Gina Brown, Meadowlark Farm Orchard and Cidery began with the planting of about 4000 peach and apple trees. Over the years, the farm has expanded to include a variety of fruits, vegetables, and grass-fed beef. The farm's unique hard cider is made from apples grown on-site, distinguishing it from other cideries. The Browns, both Kansas natives, have a rich background in agriculture development and healthcare, having lived and worked in Pakistan and Afghanistan before returning to Kansas.
Practices
Meadowlark Farm emphasizes careful land stewardship and conscientious crop husbandry. The farm supports and collaborates with local farmers and businesses, adhering to unique standards of estate cideries. The Browns are committed to growing delicious, healthy food while providing a place for visitors to enjoy nature, walk, play, drink, eat, and create lasting memories.
The Rest
Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities including picking their own fruit and vegetables, hay rack rides, and exploring the pumpkin patch in the fall. The farm also offers educational events for groups and schools, as well as a farm store that sells fresh produce, hard cider, and other local products. The taproom features seven varieties of hard cider, and the farm hosts various events and activities throughout the year. Admission includes access to picnic shelters, playgrounds, and games, making it a family-friendly destination.
