About the Farm
Background
Situated on 220 acres, this farm has become known for its commitment to raising a variety of livestock including chickens, beef, lamb, turkey, pork, and eggs. They have established a presence at local farmers' markets in Ithaca, Syracuse, Rochester, and Mansfield, PA, where they sell their pasture-raised products.
Practices
Beef and lamb are raised entirely on rotated pasture without the use of growth hormones, antibiotics, or chemical wormers, and they are not fed any grain. Poultry is 100% pasture-raised and supplemented with organic grain. Pigs are also fed organic grain and have access to pasture with run-in shelters. The farm emphasizes clean food production and rotational grazing to maintain soil health and animal welfare.
The Rest
Farm sales and tours are encouraged, providing an opportunity for visitors to see the farming practices firsthand. Additionally, the farm is developing a training program to help families start their own sustainable farming ventures.
