About the Farm
Background
Continuing a family farming legacy passed down through generations, the farm has been sharing fresh produce with the community for over 25 years. Originally offering a CSA, the farm has now retired this program but remains active in local agriculture through its farm stand and participation in Penn's Corner Farm Alliance and PASA.
Practices
For over a quarter-century, the farm has employed sustainable farming practices to grow a variety of healthy and hearty produce. Their methods emphasize respect for families, the community, and the environment, ensuring the land remains fertile and productive for future generations.
The Rest
Visitors are encouraged to stop by the farm stand at Matthews Family Farm during the growing season to purchase fresh vegetables. The farm also welcomes suggestions for new crops to cultivate and has historically offered a wide range of vegetables, including sweet corn, heirloom tomatoes, melons, zucchini, cucumbers, squash, peppers, broccoli, cabbage, beets, field greens, and pumpkins. Larger quantities of produce for canning and freezing are available later in the season.
