About the Farm
Background
In 2009, Fernando and Margarita Mendez fulfilled their lifelong dream by investing their life savings into a 900-acre farm in Crisp County, Georgia, naming it Marview after Margarita and the beautiful view they enjoy daily. Over the years, they have grown their herd and, by September 2013, became a 100% grass-fed livestock supplier. Marview Farms has received the Innovator of the Year Award at the Farmer’s Appreciation Banquet in Crisp County and holds several certifications, including American Grassfed Association Certified and Georgia Grown certification.
Practices
Marview Farms employs rotational grazing to nurture their herd, ensuring the land remains fertile and the animals healthy. The farm is hormone-free and antibiotic-less, with animals raised free-range without immune system altering vaccinations, harmful steroids, or insecticides. By focusing on grass alone, the animals ingest nutrients as nature intended, contributing to their overall well-being. The farm's commitment to chemical-free pastures for over five years ensures that the animals are raised in a natural and biodynamic environment.
The Rest
Marview Farms offers a variety of products including beef, lamb, goat, pork, chicken, eggs, honey, and pecans. They emphasize the health benefits of pasture-raised and finished meat, which is higher in Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, and conjugated linoleic acid. The farm is family-owned and operated, with a dedication to providing a stress-free and happy life for their animals. Their products are available through their online store and at various farmer's markets and pickup locations.
