About the Farm

Background

Purchased in 1915 by Thomas and Rose Marchukaitis, the farm started with 114 acres, 15 cows, and 2 horses. In 1937, their son Matthew and his wife Anastasia expanded the farm, adding poultry and dairy barns in the 1940s and planting apple orchards in the 1950s. By the 1970s, the farm had grown to include 100 dairy cattle, 40 acres of fruit trees, and various vegetables. In 1977, Thomas and Susan took over, shifting focus to vegetables and fruit, adding a commercial kitchen in 1988 and multiple greenhouses in subsequent years. The 1990s saw the rise of the popular Pick-Your-Own activities.

Practices

The farm employs diversified farming practices, focusing on fruit and vegetable production. Greenhouses are used to grow a variety of tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, lettuce, and salad greens. The farm also practices integrated pest management, including the use of ladybugs to control aphids and other pests naturally.

The Rest

Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities including the Hayloft Playscape, Pond Side Animal Yard, farm hiking trails, seasonal hayrides, corn mazes, and harvest festivals. The farm also offers event spaces for special occasions and hosts concerts, workshops, and seasonal yoga classes. The Ben March Scholarship honors the memory of a beloved family member by supporting local high school seniors. The farm encourages visitors to share their experiences on social media.
