Maplebrook Farm

Located in Gig Harbor, Washington, the farm has evolved over the years from a 2-acre mini-farm to a 5-acre operation. Known for its English Shepherds, the farm has been breeding these dogs and managing a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats and a flock of chickens. The farm also boasts a rich history of homeschooling, with the owner having homeschooled four children through high school.

The farm employs free-range practices for its chickens, allowing them to roam and forage naturally. The dairy goats are managed by the English Shepherds, which are bred on-site. The farm also emphasizes homegrown produce, cultivating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, including strawberries, raspberries, green beans, peas, broccoli, lettuce, cabbage, carrots, asparagus, artichokes, plums, pears, grapes, blueberries, kiwi, spinach, tomatoes, and melons. The addition of a glass greenhouse has further extended the growing season, allowing for an even greater variety of crops.

The farm offers tours and overnight stays, providing a hands-on experience for visitors. They also sell young pullets and have a robust online presence where customers can follow puppy updates and apply for new litters. The farm's produce is available in season, and they maintain an online farmer's market for easy access to their fresh offerings.
