About the Farm
Background
Located in Granville, Massachusetts, this family farm has been in continuous operation since 1812. Originally a beef and dairy operation, it now focuses on producing hay, pure maple syrup, and maple products, as well as offering pick-your-own blueberries. The farm also features cross-country skiing and snowshoeing during the winter months.
Practices
The farm taps its maple trees in late February through early April, boiling the sap into maple syrup. Grass-fed beef is available year-round, and hay is sold directly from the field during the summer. The farm's elevation at 1400 feet provides a cooler climate, beneficial for snow retention during winter activities.
The Rest
Visitors can tour the Sugar House to watch the maple syrup boiling process and enjoy pancakes and French toast with fresh syrup. The farm offers 20 kilometers of groomed trails for skiing and separate trails for snowshoeing, with equipment rentals available. Pick-your-own blueberries are available from mid-July to mid-September, and hay bales are sold for various livestock.
