About the Farm
Background
About seven years ago, a retired couple decided to reclaim some land to beautify the area and grow fresh produce. Over time, the operation expanded to include more land and a restored WWII vintage barn, which now serves as the centerpiece. The farm has been featured in Alabama Living magazine, The New Hope Telephone Cooperative's March-April 2011 issue, and The Huntsville Times business section. It was also the cover for the New Hope Telephone Directory in 2012. The farm received a national conservation award from the DAR in 2009.
Practices
The farm utilizes best practices from extension service training and master gardener training. They focus on growing a variety of crops, including strawberries, blackberries, muscadines, heirloom tomatoes, herbs, vegetables, and cut flowers, using methods that prioritize land reclamation and conservation.
The Rest
The farm offers a 'pick your own' option as well as pre-picked produce. They welcome visitors, including school groups and families, and have hosted field days for the extension service. For more information on locations and availability, customers can call or check their Facebook page for updates.
