About the Farm
Background
Relocating from Indiana to Maine in Autumn 2018, the farm has established itself as an 'Old MacDonald' homestead with a diverse range of livestock and produce. Known for its heritage breed or heritage cross broiler chickens, the farm has become a staple in the local community, providing fresh vegetables at the local Farmers Market and offering farm tours by appointment.
Practices
The farm raises cows, sheep, and goats on grass and hay, avoiding GMOs and chemicals, and uses very little grain. Animals intended for meat are 100% grass-fed. Poultry is allowed to free-range wherever they like, and the farm produces chemical-free eggs. The farm also engages in mushroom cultivation and operates a sourdough bakery.
The Rest
The farm offers egg and meat shares year-round with pick-up at the farm and farmers markets in season. Discounts are available for 'by the dozen/by the cut' purchases at the farm. They welcome WWOOFers and may consider internships on a case-by-case basis. Dairy products from goats and cows are also available. Visitors are encouraged to call ahead for appointments.
