About the Farm
Background
Owned and operated by Gary and Rebecca Luginbill along with their two sons and their wives, the farm recently celebrated its centennial, marking 100 years of family stewardship. Originally a row crop farm with confinement-raised livestock, it transitioned 15 years ago to focus on pasture-raised meats and humane livestock practices.
Practices
The farm raises beef on a grass-only diet, while pork, turkeys, broilers, and free-range hens are fed non-GMO grains grown and mixed with an organic mineral premix on the farm. No hormones, antibiotics, or growth promoters are used. Despite recent challenges in sourcing non-GMO feeds for pork and beef, the chickens continue to receive non-GMO feed. The farm adheres to a philosophy of humane treatment and avoids the use of drugs, vaccines, and chemical carcass washes.
The Rest
The farm's mission is to provide nutritionally superior food, inspired by the belief that food is fundamental to overall health. They offer a variety of products including beef, chicken, pork, honey, and maple syrup. Customers are encouraged to explore resources like eatwild.com and westonapri for more information on the benefits of pasture-raised meats.
