About the Farm
Background
Located just south of Syracuse, the farm has been in operation since 1970, initially starting with a retail Christmas Tree business. Over the years, it has expanded to include raising red angus cows and selling beef directly to consumers.
Practices
The farm raises red angus cows on pasture from spring until fall, feeding them grass hay during the winter months. The animals are naturally raised without antibiotics, hormones, or steroids. Beef is slaughtered at a small USDA inspected slaughterhouse, vacuum sealed, and sold directly to consumers. The farm is 'Beef Quality Assured' certified, emphasizing the belief that well-cared-for animals produce better meat.
The Rest
The farm offers beef in various quantities, including whole, half, quarter, and 1/8 or smaller 'Family Packs,' making it accessible for those with limited storage space. The Christmas Tree business remains a significant part of the farm's operations.
