About the Farm
Background
The farm began with a simple desire to understand the origins and quality of their food, starting operations just before the local food movement gained momentum. Since then, they have been providing quality meats, including beef, poultry, and occasionally lamb sausage, to their community.
Practices
The farm raises natural, grass-fed beef and all-natural poultry, including a heritage breed cross chicken known for its superior flavor compared to typical breeds. Their pork, sourced from an Amish farm, is pasture-raised. All meats are processed on the property in a clean, state-of-the-art facility by the family, ensuring quality and traceability. They also offer processing services for other local farmers.
The Rest
Chicken is available only in the summer, and turkeys are available for Thanksgiving, often selling out early. The primary market involves selling quarters of cows, halves or whole pigs, and individual poultry birds. They do not have a retail market on the property but encourage visitors to call and book a tour.
