About the Farm

Background

Local Harvest CSA began in 2002 as the first cooperative CSA in New Hampshire. Over two decades later, it continues to provide a weekly supply of organic, high-quality, locally grown, and seasonally fresh food at an affordable price. Members purchase a share at the beginning of the season, offering crucial early support for seeds, farm supplies, and labor. The cooperative model allows each farm to grow a variety of produce, ensuring a diverse and consistent selection for CSA members.

Practices

All produce is certified organic, adhering to USDA’s National Organic Program standards. The farms employ sustainable practices that build soil health and promote biodiversity, going beyond organic certification requirements. Stewardship practices nourish the soil, forests, and water on the land. Vegetables are picked to order, ensuring maximum flavor, nutrition, and longevity. Buying local reduces fossil fuel use and supports the local economy, with a dollar spent locally having a multiplier effect of approximately two dollars in New Hampshire.

The Rest

Local Harvest CSA offers three share sizes to fit different family needs and a variety of pick-up options in Concord and surrounding areas. Additional shares include organic bread and cut flowers. A member-run swap table allows for vegetable exchanges, and a Vacation/Away option lets members hold and double their shares. Bulk purchases for canning, preserving, or large gatherings are available. Flexible payment plans are offered, and any unused produce is donated.
