About the Farm
Background
With over three generations of experience, LB Ranch has cultivated a reputation for raising high-quality meat through respectful and careful animal husbandry.
Practices
Calves are raised without growth hormones or antibiotics and are allowed to forage on high-quality vegetation throughout their lives. The fields, featuring Common Rye, Vetch, Clover, Bermuda, Johnson, and native grasses, are free of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. Calves are rotated across three different pastures to ensure continuous access to fresh growth and are never fed grain products.
The Rest
LB Ranch is committed to providing healthy, natural, safe, and humanely treated animals. Their processor, Kurt Cheatham at Hopkins County Food Locker, attests to the cleanliness and health of the calves, noting the good texture and minimal waste of the meat.
