About the Farm
Background
The farm has a structured harvest schedule, beginning with greens, lettuce, cabbage, onions, and beets, and transitioning through various crops as the seasons change. The farm has a history of providing fresh produce directly to customers with a pick-up system in place.
Practices
All produce is grown on plastic, which helps in maintaining consistent watering and fertilization based on soil tests. The farm uses liquid Sevin as an insecticide specifically for potato beetles and Japanese beetles on okra. Harvested produce is rinsed, placed in individual baskets, and stored in a cooler until pick-up.
The Rest
Harvests occur every Tuesday with pick-up available on Wednesday between 8:00 am and 6:30 pm. The farm offers shares of their produce, with limited availability, and communicates with customers through their Facebook page.
