About the Farm
Background
The farm has established itself as a provider of raw milk from Jersey, Normande, Brown Swiss, and Dutch Belted cows, as well as Alpine and Nubian goats. Known for its commitment to natural farming practices, it has become a staple at the Owensboro Regional Farmers Market, offering a variety of dairy products, meats, and other farm goods.
Practices
The cow herd is pasture-grazed year-round on pesticide and herbicide-free pastures, ensuring the animals have access to clean and nutritious forage. The goat herd shares these pastures and also has access to trees and browse, mimicking their natural diet. This rotational grazing system not only promotes animal health but also enhances soil fertility and biodiversity. The farm adheres to a philosophy of minimal intervention, allowing the natural ecosystem to thrive.
The Rest
Farm visits are encouraged and can be arranged by appointment, providing an opportunity for customers to see the farming practices firsthand. Herdshares of milk and various dairy products are available for pickup at the farm or at select locations. The farm also sells its products at the Owensboro Regional Farmers Market from April to October on Saturdays.
