About the Farm
Background
Located four miles outside of Apollo, PA, this small, family-owned farm has become known for its specialty in apples, offering 23 varieties along with fresh, sweet cider. Over the years, the farm has expanded its offerings to include blueberries, peaches, plums, sweet and sour cherries, and a multitude of summer vegetables. The farm market, open year-round, provides a wide range of bulk items, baking supplies, spices, jams and jellies, local honey, and melting chocolates.
Practices
The farm grows all its vegetable transplants from seed in its own greenhouses, ensuring a controlled and healthy start for the plants. The production of pastured pork and broiler chickens highlights a commitment to animal welfare and quality meat production. The emphasis on growing a diverse range of fruits and vegetables demonstrates an integrated approach to farming that supports both the land and the local community.
The Rest
The farm market also offers fruit and gift baskets, and accepts various forms of payment including credit and debit cards, SNAP/EBT cards, and WIC program Farmers' Market Nutrition Program certificates.
