Kingsbury Market Garden

Kingsbury Market Garden operates as a division of Kingsbury Farm, owned by the Vermont Foodbank. The farm's lease is based on a barter system, where they grow two acres of vegetables for the Foodbank in exchange for the use of the farm and its infrastructure. Known for its dedication to sustainable agriculture, the farm has become a key player in the local food systems movement.

Kingsbury Market Garden employs organic farming methods, focusing on soil health, biodiversity preservation, and waste reduction. They manage their farm naturally, without synthetic inputs, ensuring that their produce is both healthy for consumers and beneficial for the environment.

The farmstand and bakery are open from Wednesday to Saturday, June through November, featuring homegrown produce, naturally leavened breads, artisanal cheeses, canned goods, and simple take-home meals. The farm also runs a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, offering members a share of the weekly harvest and opportunities to connect with the farmers. Additionally, Kingsbury Market Garden hosts workshops and events to educate the community about sustainable agriculture and the importance of local food systems.
