About the Farm
Background
Jubilee Urban Farms began on the 70th Anniversary of Israel at the end of the year 5777 Jubilee, starting with the planting of organic heirloom tomatoes from rare and ancient seed strains in Kentucky. Since then, the farm has expanded its offerings to include microgreens and a variety of hot chili peppers grown using hydroponics and aquaponics. In August 2018, they launched a home delivery subscription service for microgreens, organic herbs, and other heirloom fruits and vegetables.
Practices
The farm employs hydroponic and aquaponic methods to grow its produce, ensuring a chemical-free and non-GMO approach. They focus on organic farming practices, particularly with their heirloom tomatoes and microgreens. The use of aquaculture methods for growing hot chili peppers and other produce highlights their innovative approach to urban farming.
The Rest
Jubilee Urban Farms offers subscription services with special pricing for VIP members, known as the Sprouthead Army, and provides discounts for military, veterans, and first responders. They aim to establish a community garden to teach valuable life skills and promote healthy eating among children and adults, emphasizing the importance of access to clean food regardless of economic class.
