About the Farm
Background
Rooted in a family-grown legacy, the story began in 1982 with the planting of Chardonnay grapevines in Lake County, California. Over the years, the farm has become known for its premium, affordable wines and has received numerous accolades, including the first-ever Platinum Award for an American Chardonnay and recognition as Wine & Spirits Magazine's 'Winery of the Year'. The founder, Jess Jackson, was a pioneer in sustainable winemaking and his legacy continues to inspire the farm's commitment to quality and stewardship of the land.
Practices
The farm employs sustainable business practices, emphasizing the importance of stewardship of the land. This includes the use of French oak barrels for aging and fermenting wines, and a commitment to producing varietal-specific wines that enhance public understanding and appreciation of wine. The farm's educational vineyard and culinary gardens further demonstrate their dedication to sustainable agriculture and farm-to-table experiences.
The Rest
Visitors can enjoy a comprehensive wine, food, and farm-to-table experience at the Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate and Gardens, which features a tasting room, acres of culinary gardens, a demonstration kitchen, and an educational vineyard. The farm's produce is available at local restaurants, including their own restaurant Partake in Healdsburg, and through F.E.E.D. Sonoma, which distributes locally and to the San Francisco and East Bay areas.
