About the Farm
Background
Since 1936, Ioka Valley Farm has been a family-owned and operated working farm located in Hancock, MA. Over the decades, it has grown into a diversified operation known for its pure maple syrup, hormone-free beef, perfect pumpkins, fragrant Christmas trees, and contented farm animals. The farm has been producing high-quality products for four generations and has integrated maple sugaring into its operations since 1992, currently managing 14,000 taps to produce over 7,000 gallons of maple syrup annually.
Practices
Ioka Valley Farm adheres to the advanced standards and practices set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources in the Commonwealth Quality Program, ensuring high-quality products that are grown, harvested, and produced in Massachusetts. The farm is committed to natural and hormone-free beef production and maintains a diversified approach to farming, including maple sugaring, pumpkin growing, and Christmas tree cultivation.
The Rest
The farm offers a variety of seasonal activities, including maple sugaring demonstrations and pancake meals in the spring, pick-your-own strawberries and a farm play area in the summer, pick-your-own pumpkins and fall activities in the autumn, and choose-and-cut or fresh-cut Christmas trees along with a special Breakfast with Santa event in the winter. The farm also has a seasonal gift shop where maple products and natural beef are available year-round, and it accepts business and bulk maple syrup accounts. Visitors are reminded of the farm's no-pet policy.
