About the Farm
Background
Iles Cattle Farm, a 4th generation family farm located in Littleton, North Carolina, has been in operation for 78 years. Originally known as DE Iles Dairy, the farm milked cattle until August 2009, when it transitioned to raising Red Devon beef. The farm now raises Angus and Balancer cattle and has expanded to include chicken eggs. Owned and operated by Dan and Stephanie Iles, the farm has a long-standing tradition of producing high-quality products.
Practices
The farm employs rotational grazing year-round on over 100 acres of pasture, ensuring that cattle are 100% grass-fed without any grain, hormones, or antibiotics. This method allows the cattle to eat as they evolved to do, resulting in healthier and more flavorful beef. Pigs are raised in pastures where they can forage naturally and are supplemented with grain ground on the farm. Rhode Island Red hens provide free-range eggs, with their mobile home moved from pasture to pasture to ensure they receive optimal nutrients. The farm emphasizes stress-free environments for all animals to promote health and quality.
The Rest
Products, including beef, pork, and eggs, can be purchased directly from the farm or delivered to nearby areas like Roanoke Rapids or Littleton. Meat is vacuum-sealed and frozen by a USDA-inspected facility, available by the cut, quarter, half, or whole carcass. The farm is currently expanding its chicken flock to increase egg production. Visitors can find more information on the farm's website or Facebook page.
