About the Farm
Background
Established in 1823, this small farm has been a family effort for nearly two centuries. Initially a subsistence farm, it has evolved into a dedicated organic farm certified at the inception of the National Organic Program in 2001. Despite suburban encroachment, it remains a productive and sustainable agricultural island.
Practices
The farm has practiced organic methods from its inception, focusing on growing a diverse array of produce including hardneck garlic, special potatoes, celery, and other unique crops. Specializing in greens, salad mixes, cut flowers, and heirloom varieties, the farm emphasizes organic growing techniques for the health of the land and its community.
The Rest
The farm offers on-farm sales nearly year-round with limited hours from January through April. It is known for its professional-grade cut flowers, sought after by local florists, and welcomes visitors to its farm store. For the latest updates, visitors are encouraged to check the farm's Facebook page.
