About the Farm

Background

Founded in 2012, Humboldt Regeneration is California's first craft brewery to grow and process their own ingredients since prohibition. Known for their mission to promote regenerative agriculture and re-localization, they offer a wide variety of beer styles available on-tap at various locations around Northern Humboldt County and Napa County. The brewery features a custom 4-vessel 2bbl 'nano-production' system, built in collaboration with a skilled local fabricator.

Practices

The 2-acre beer-farm, located 1.5 miles from the nano-brewery, produces ingredients for their ales using permaculture and regenerative agriculture practices. They work with the local NRCS office as land stewards, offering educational tours and soil health workshops. Farming methods include companion planting, organic soil building techniques, mycoculture, and no-till soil management.

The Rest

Humboldt Regeneration offers a Community Supported Brewery (CSB) growler program, similar to a CSA farm's weekly food box. The brewmaster/beer-farmer, Jacob Pressey, creates a variety of non-traditional Belgian style brews, traditional German and English style beers, and other unique recipes. They also produce a Solera-style barrel-aged malt vinegar, made and bottled in-house since 2012.
