About the Farm
Background
Tracing its roots back eight generations, the farm began its modern journey in 2002 when Jeremy and Joanna Hinton started growing apples and peaches by leasing the Tommy Bennett Orchards in LaRue County. Over time, the farm expanded to include vegetables, berries, flowers, Christmas trees, burley tobacco, and soybeans. Recognized as the area's top pumpkin patch and a premier agritourism site, the farm has become a beloved destination for families in Elizabethtown and beyond.
Practices
The farm emphasizes the cultivation of a diverse array of crops, including strawberries, peaches, apples, and pumpkins, alongside summer vegetables. It offers pick-your-own experiences and a large play area known as Hinton’s FarmLand. The farm is a proud member of the Kentucky Proud program and the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Certified Farm Market Program, promoting locally grown and produced products. The Hinton family is dedicated to providing fresh, delicious produce while fostering a connection between the community and the land.
The Rest
Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities such as hay rides, corn mazes, and farm festivals. The on-farm market features seasonal produce, bedding plants, hanging baskets, jams, jellies, salsas, sorghum, honey, and locally grown meats and eggs. Additionally, the farm offers homemade pies, cakes, and other treats from their kitchen. The farm hosts school and group tours, birthday parties, church and company events, and has a secondary market location in Elizabethtown. Seasonal hours and updates are available on their website and Facebook page.
