About the Farm
Background
In 2006, the founders transitioned from a downtown backyard to a 15-acre farm in Boynton Beach, starting with two French Hens that grew into a diverse flock of over 350 birds. Over the years, they expanded to include geese, turkeys, ducks, quail, guineafowl, cows, and goats. They have been active in the Delray Beach GreenMarket, promoting pastured farming and raw dairy for almost a decade. The farm has faced challenges, including changes in agricultural land classification and the impact of Covid-19, which led to the introduction of local deliveries and contactless curbside pick-up.
Practices
The farm adheres to a philosophy of farming by the livestock's innateness and the earth’s seasonal rhythm, avoiding the convenience of modern tweaks. They focus on pasture-intensive practices, with cows grazing on grass and being milked once per day, and hens foraging on grass and bugs. The farm avoids GMO grains, soy, and fillers, and instead uses organic sunflower seeds, legumes, and coconuts to supplement the diet. Permaculture principles guide the farm's physical terrain and agricultural practices.
The Rest
The farm offers a seven-day ordering cycle, with pick-up available on Saturdays. Orders must be placed by Thursday evening to be ready for pick-up that same week. The farm also hosts educational classes on poultry and raw dairy, and emphasizes the importance of food independence and ethical farming. All provisions are handmade, custom to order, and seasonal.
