About the Farm
Background
Beginning in 2002, Keith and Sandi Bentz started raising Texas Longhorn Cattle to provide healthy beef for their family. Over the years, they expanded to include chickens, Nubian goats, New Zealand rabbits, pigs, and a half-acre garden. The farm is known for its commitment to natural farming practices and stewardship of the land.
Practices
The farm employs multi-species management intensive grazing, where each animal complements the others and the forage they graze on. They avoid chemicals, using Diatomaceous Earth to control parasites and mechanically removing weeds. The animals, including Texas Longhorns, Honey Bees, Goats, and Chickens, roam freely across 40 acres of Missouri pasture, living a natural lifestyle.
The Rest
The farm offers raw goat milk, cheeses, and butter, with milk sold by the quart, half gallon, or gallon. They also provide pasture-raised goat meat, poultry, eggs, grassfed purebred longhorn beef, and pasture-raised pork. Milk is delivered in Cameron and Hamilton, with all sales originating on the farm. Tours and cheese-making classes are available during farm hours, and the farm can be found at the Hamilton Farmers Market on Fridays.
