About the Farm
Background
The passion for Miniature Jerseys began in 2009, leading to the purchase of an abandoned dairy farm in Southern Missouri in 2013. By October 2014, the dairy was operational, having moved 30 Jersey and Jersey cross cows from Utah. The goal is to develop a herd of about 50 Mini Jersey cows known for good milk production and temperament.
Practices
Breeding stock is chosen based on strict standards, focusing on udders with excellent conformation and proven longevity. The farm uses hybrid vigor, combining Mini and Standard Jersey genetics, to mitigate common Jersey cattle issues like Milk Fever and Ketosis. The cows are grassfed, ensuring high-quality raw milk.
The Rest
In addition to dairy farming, the farm raises chickens for eggs and AKC Great Pyrenees guardian dogs. They offer purebred registered Mini Jerseys and occasionally have heifers for sale. Visitors can pick up raw milk directly from the farm in Myrtle, Missouri, and are encouraged to bring their own jars.
