About the Farm
Background
About 20 years ago, Stuart and LeAnn Harner bought a place in Oliver County, North Dakota, and began their journey as modern homesteaders. LeAnn took on the role of farmer, managing the animals and garden, while Stuart, an engineer, handled equipment repairs and created solutions for farm needs. Over the years, they have become known for breeding registered Nubian dairy goats and producing a variety of goat milk products.
Practices
The farm focuses on self-sufficiency, raising as much of their own food as possible. They manage their Nubian goats with care, ensuring they are registered and health-tested. The goats provide fresh milk, which is then used to make ice cream, yogurt, cheese, soap, and lotion. Detailed management practices are available on their website.
The Rest
Customers can purchase shares in the goats, with options to receive raw milk or have it converted into yogurt or cheese for an additional fee. Goat milk soap and other products are also available. Pickup is at the farm unless prior arrangements are made. Photos of the goats and further information can be found on their website, and contracts can be obtained via email or phone.
