About the Farm
Background
Located between the Cascade Mountains and the coastal range, the farm is located in Oregon's fertile Willamette Valley. The local community of Mt. Angel was founded in the 1880s by German immigrants, including the family behind this flower farm. While their farming heritage spans many generations, the flower operation began in 1989 with a handful of select dried flower varieties. Initially, flowers were dried in barns built for poultry production, but the weight of the flowers necessitated the construction of a dedicated drying facility. Over the years, the farm expanded to include fresh flowers like peonies, rose hips, and red twig dogwood.
Practices
The farm cultivates about 40 different varieties of flowers on 55 acres, all of which are dried, sorted, and packed for shipping by a team of dedicated employees. The farm's practices emphasize the importance of community and employee involvement, with many seasonal workers returning year after year, bringing valuable knowledge and helping to train new staff. The farm's crop selection evolves based on customer feedback, ensuring a dynamic and responsive approach to flower farming.
The Rest
The farm welcomes florists, wedding flower designers, home decor enthusiasts, and DIY project creators. Customers can order online, by phone, email, or even snail mail. The farm prides itself on exceptional customer service, with dedicated staff like MJ in the office and Guadalupe in custom packing. The farm's mission is to treat all customers as they would like to be treated, fostering long-term relationships and a commitment to quality.
