About the Farm
Background
Hamakua Apiaries operates on the Big Island of Hawaii, which boasts 10 of the world's 14 micro-climates. This diversity allows the production of unique tropical honeys. In 2015, the Big Island became a GMO-free zone, enabling the production of GMO-free honey.
Practices
The apiary prides itself on the quality of its honey bees and management practices. They harvest five varietal honeys that are raw and unfiltered, including Macadamia Nut Honey, Wilelaiki Honey, Ohia Lehua Honey, Hawaiian Eucalyptus Honey, and Hawaiian Wild Flower Honey.
The Rest
Customers can order a four varietal sample pack of the honeys. The honey is primarily sold in 5-gallon buckets for $185 or 2-gallon pails for $96, plus shipping.
