About the Farm

Background

Established in 1979 by Dale and Judy Ham, the orchard began with 50 trees on 23 acres and expanded significantly over the years. The first peaches were sold at a roadside stand on Texas Highway 80. As the orchard grew, an open-air farm market was constructed and later expanded in 2000 to include air-conditioning and homemade peach and strawberry ice cream. The market store was further updated in 2007 with a fudge bar, and a bakery was added in 2008. A pavilion for BBQ and leisure was built in 2009. Today, the orchard spans 100 acres with five orchards and approximately 10,000 peach trees, along with additional fruit trees and two blackberry patches.

Practices

The orchard employs traditional fruit-growing practices, focusing on peaches and blackberries. The farm market store and pick-your-own activities emphasize a direct connection between the farm and the consumer, fostering a community-oriented approach to agriculture.

The Rest

The farm market store offers a variety of products, including homemade peach and strawberry ice cream, a fudge bar, and a bakery. A pavilion provides a space for customers to enjoy BBQ and relax in rocking chairs. The orchard is open seasonally from mid-May to mid-August, Monday through Saturday, and is known for its award-winning BBQ by Eddie Deen.
