About the Farm
Background
Luke and Katherine Groce started their farm near Louisville, KY in 2009, driven by a passion for feeding people delicious, nutritive food and a desire to live close to the land. Initially focused on chemical-free vegetables, they soon realized the importance of integrating animals into their farming system. By 2014, they began raising pastured pork and expanded to a new farm in Crawford County, IN in 2015. Over the years, they have grown their family, added four children, and deepened their understanding of sustainable farming practices.
Practices
The farm mimics nature's rhythms, integrating animals into the landscape to promote regeneration and abundance. They raise forest-raised pork, open-pasture chicken, duck, and turkey, and 100% grass-fed lamb and beef. The farm uses no harmful chemicals and only occasionally employs organic certified, naturally derived products for pest control. Their approach ensures that produce is often harvested on the day of purchase, and animals live happy, healthy lives.
The Rest
The farm offers a variety of purchasing options, including a meat CSA subscription, individual cuts, and bulk buying of whole or half animals. They also supply to restaurants and grocers in the Louisville and Southern Indiana areas. Seasonal heirloom vegetables and fruits are available, and customers can stay updated through Instagram and Facebook.
