About the Farm
Background
Jonathan and Deb Berger, both raised on family farms in Ohio, established Green Vista Farm after Jonathan's 14 years in dairy farming and a career in nutrient management. The farm, originally a dairy operation, transitioned to focus on grassfed beef with the support of their children, each contributing to various aspects of the business.
Practices
The farm raises cattle on pasture from birth to finish, supplementing with dry forage as needed. They use no artificial fertilizers, hormones, or pesticides, and prioritize the conservation value of grasslands. The cattle are never fed or injected with growth-promoting substances, and the beef is processed without blending from multiple sources.
The Rest
Green Vista Farm offers beef by the hanging weight in various quantities and encourages farm visits to see their practices firsthand. They also provide non-GMO, antibiotic, and ractopamine-free pork. The farm does not operate a retail store and conducts no business on Sundays.
