Great Heritage Farm LLC

Great Heritage Farm was started to produce amazing tasting, nutrient-dense food for the family and community, to steward the land sustainably, and to provide high quality life for the animals and people connected to them. Owned and operated by Benjamin and Leah Matzke along with their five children, the farm is located in Winthrop, MN. Benjamin grew up in southern Minnesota and enjoys leading excursions into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Leah also grew up in southern Minnesota, was active in 4-H animal projects, and is proud to be raising her own livestock now.

The farm practices rotational grazing, meaning livestock are moved regularly, which supports animal health and helps build soils. This method ensures that the land is treated with care, promoting soil health and sustainability.

The farm's name, Great Heritage Farm, is inspired by the hymn 'God’s Word Is Our Great Heritage,' reflecting the family's spiritual beliefs and values. The farm emphasizes the importance of God's blessings and the spiritual heritage found in Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection.
