About the Farm
Background
Located northeast of Columbus in Licking County, Ohio, near Homer, the farm spans 78 acres of pastures and 20 acres of meadows. Named after a stream on the property, it features century-old buildings, a small greenhouse, and diverse wildlife habitats. The farm also owns the nearby Homer Village Market, where USDA-inspected lamb is sold when available.
Practices
The farm raises sheep and a small flock of laying hens on lush pastures, supplemented by commercial feed from a local feed store that contains no hormones, medications, or animal by-products. The sheep, primarily of the Katahdin breed, are chosen for their meat quality, parasite resistance, and lack of need for shearing or tail docking. Animals receive loving care, fresh water, pasture, roomy shelter, and veterinary care as needed.
The Rest
Firewood and seasonal produce are occasionally available. Lamb can be purchased 'on-the-hoof' by appointment at the farm. No fishing or hunting is permitted at this time.
