About the Farm
Background
Over thirty years ago, John, Sally, and a few friends started Gathering Together Farm to provide one local restaurant with a wider selection of organic produce than was available at the time. Since then, the farm has expanded to provide some of the finest organic produce in the Willamette Valley to farmers markets, restaurants, grocery stores, and through CSA and their own restaurant. They are known for their commitment to growing good food, supporting employees with home-cooked meals, and engaging with the community through collaborations with students and researchers.
Practices
The farm is organically certified, ensuring that all fruits and vegetables are grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. They focus on taking care of the land, employing practices that maintain soil health and promote biodiversity. The farm also participates in statewide breeding and dry-farming trials, contributing to agricultural research and innovation.
The Rest
The farm's produce is sold at several Farmers' Markets in the Willamette Valley, shared through Summer CSA boxes, and available at their Farm Stand and on-site restaurant. The Farm Stand offers homemade pastries, artisan goods from local vendors, free range eggs, grass fed beef and lamb, and more. The restaurant provides a unique farm-to-table dining experience with lunch and dinner service. Additionally, the farm supplies local restaurants and grocers with seasonal vegetables.
