About the Farm
Background
Located in the historic farming valley of West Granby, Connecticut, the farm originally specialized in garlic but has since diversified to include tomatoes, peppers, and other summer vegetables. The farm has been owner-operated and has developed a modest CSA program, now in its fourth season.
Practices
Vegetables are raised according to the guidelines of the Northeast Organic Farming Association, ensuring adherence to organic farming principles. The farm grows a variety of crops including hybrid and heirloom tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, eggplant, onions, garlic, leeks, and shallots.
The Rest
The farm sells its produce directly to the public from its barn and at a nearby farmers' market. It opens for two weekends in June to sell garlic scapes and operates daily from 10 am to 6 pm from the Saturday after Independence Day until the frost in October. The farm also provides recipes for its summer produce on its website.
