About the Farm
Background
Michael and Lynn Monroe began their journey in 1993 in Seattle, Washington, purchasing shiitake mushroom blocks from Oregon. By 1994, they had acquired a small farm in Snohomish, Washington, and quickly became the largest Certified Organic gourmet mushroom farm in the state. Over nine years, they expanded their production to include oyster, lion's mane, maitake, and reishi mushrooms, as well as wild harvested varieties. Their success led them to develop a line of dried mushrooms and eventually expand their market nationally.
Practices
The farm focuses on cultivating USDA Certified Organic mushrooms and sourcing wild harvested varieties. Their commitment to organic practices ensures that their products meet high standards of quality and sustainability. By expanding into dried mushroom products, they cater to both bulk ingredient customers and individual consumers, maintaining a strong emphasis on quality and consistency.
The Rest
In addition to their mushroom products, they offer Dried Organic Soup Mixes and Melange Seasoning & Rub Marinades, designed for convenience. Their Italian Truffle Line, private labeled in Tuscany, has gained recognition in gourmet magazines and on television. The business has grown to include multiple national brands and private label manufacturing, always prioritizing premium ingredients and consistent quality.
