About the Farm
Background
Located in the Teton Valley, this 20-acre farm has become a cornerstone for the local community, offering a CSA program that serves Jackson Hole and Teton Valley. Known for its high-quality produce and educational opportunities, the farm has also made a name for itself at local farmers markets. Over the years, it has expanded its offerings to include a variety of fresh and dried herbs, as well as goat cheese from a neighboring farm.
Practices
The farm employs biodynamic and organic farming methods, emphasizing the interconnectedness of the ecosystem. Permaculture techniques are used to cultivate 2 acres of flowers and produce, 1/4 acre of hoophouse production, and 3 acres dedicated to windbreak, orchard, and native plants. Additionally, 10 acres are used for hay and 3 acres for pasture to support their cows. These practices aim to enhance soil health, biodiversity, and community resilience.
The Rest
Visitors can explore the farm during the summer farmstand hours, where they can purchase fresh produce, flowers, and herbs. The farm also offers workshare, volunteer, and internship opportunities from May to October. Educational workshops and gardening tips are shared by the farmers, Ken and Erika, during these events. The farm's CSA program includes goat cheese from Winter Winds Farm, and they occasionally raise pigs, chickens, and laying hens. Their garlic varieties, 'Romanian Red' and 'Katterman Porcelain', are particularly noteworthy for their flavor and resilience.
