About the Farm
Background
Rick grew up on the farm in Otisville, NY, and after managing a larger dairy farm for 26 years, he and his wife Julie returned in 2003 to start dairy farming again. Inspired by a vision from the Lord, they renovated the original Vreeland barn with Rick's father's permission and brought cows back onto the farm. The farm is now known for its community involvement and Christian ministry.
Practices
The farm's Jersey cows are pasture-fed, producing high-quality raw milk. Rick and Julie ensure the cows are healthy and well-cared for, with regular quality control tests on their milk and dairy operation. The farm emphasizes the health and happiness of their cows.
The Rest
Freedom Hill Farm is open to the public for tours, social visits, and shopping for farm-fresh local products. Visitors are welcome every day during the evening milking from 3:30-5:30 pm. The farm also offers a variety of products from other local producers, including organic herbs, seasonings, balsamic vinegar, olive oils, dried mushrooms, nut butters, sauces, and more.
