About the Farm

Background

Cory and Elizabeth Bower met in Buffalo, NY in 2013, driven by a shared passion for sustainable living. They purchased their first farm in 2016, aiming to create a happy, healthy environment for their animals and provide high-quality meat for their community. Initially starting with 8 pigs annually, they expanded to over 40 pigs and partnered with local farmers for grass-fed beef and raw milk cheese. After searching for a new location in New Hampshire, they moved to Tennessee to further expand their operations.

Practices

The farm raises heritage breed Hereford beef cattle, Jersey dairy cows, Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs, Black Australorp and Speckled Sussex laying hens, and Freedom Ranger & Cornish Cross meat chickens. They emphasize humane and natural living conditions for their animals, ensuring a dignified end. Their farming philosophy centers on providing a life for their animals that aligns with natural and humane principles.

The Rest

Their fresh baked breads are available at Fresh Start Market in Summersville since July 2022. Customers can reach out for bulk options or reserve their meat online. The farm also offers tours and encourages visitors to experience their farming practices firsthand. Positive customer testimonials highlight the quality of their pork and the responsible farming methods they employ.
