About the Farm

Background

Ever since the Cherokee Strip Land Run in 1893, the Freed descendants have been in Major County, Oklahoma, farming the land. The farm has been in the family for over 70 years, and in 2013, they diversified their traditional wheat, cattle, and alfalfa farm by adding fresh vegetables. In 2014, they further expanded into producing soaps, lotions, and jellies.

Practices

Natural growing practices are used in the vegetable production area. The farm grows herbs and peppers, which are incorporated into their jellies.

The Rest

The farm operates a CSA and participates in the Enid Farmer's Market with their vegetables. They also attend local craft shows with their handcrafted products. Visitors can contact the farm for tours and additional information.
